These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this website, the Member Portal, the BTTPL cricket portal and all online services we offer. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. By using the website you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

You may use the website if you can form a legally binding agreement under Indian law. If you are under 18, you may use it only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for your use. If you use the website on behalf of a family, company or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

2. About the website and the Club

The website is run by volunteers on a non-commercial basis to share information about the Club — its history, committee, facilities, sports, events, Durga Puja, notices, publications and galleries — and to offer online services such as event registration, enquiries, membership, payments and the member portal. Club rules and the Club’s Constitution always prevail over anything shown on this website.

3. Membership
  • Membership is governed by the Club’s Constitution, Rules & Regulations and the decisions of the Executive Committee. Submitting an online registration is an application, not a guarantee of membership.
  • The Club may accept, hold, or reject an application, and may ask for documents, a photograph, references or fees. The Club does not have to give reasons for its decision.
  • You must give true, complete and current information and tell us if it changes.
  • Membership is personal and non-transferable. Membership fees, subscriptions and any Durga Puja contribution are set by the Club and may change.
  • The Club may suspend or end a membership, in line with its Constitution, for non-payment, false information, misconduct, or misuse of the website or Club property.
4. Your account and security
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything done through your account. Do not share your password.
  • Tell us at once at info.btt.1971@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • We may lock, suspend or close an account to protect security or if these Terms are breached.
  • Administrator and moderator accounts are for authorised Club volunteers only; trying to access them, or any restricted area, without permission is prohibited.
5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law or infringe anyone’s rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and publicity rights;
  • post or send content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, political or religious propaganda, threatening, false or misleading;
  • impersonate any person, member or office-bearer, or misrepresent your connection with the Club;
  • upload viruses, malicious code, or anything that could damage or overload the website;
  • attempt to hack, probe, scan, scrape, copy or bypass the security, rate limits or access controls of the website, or to access other people’s data;
  • use the website to send spam, advertising, chain messages or to collect personal information about others;
  • use the website or its content for commercial purposes without our written permission; or
  • interfere with Club events, volunteers or other users.

We may remove content, block access or report conduct to the authorities if these rules are broken.

6. Content you submit

This covers text, photographs, documents, comments, feedback, Editorial Blog pieces and anything else you send us (“Contributions”). You remain the owner of your Contributions, but by submitting one you:

  • confirm that it is your own original work or you have all rights and permissions to submit it, and that it does not breach any law or anyone’s rights;
  • give the Club a free, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide right to publish, reproduce, edit for length and clarity, translate and archive it on the website, in Club publications and on Club social-media pages, with credit to you where appropriate;
  • accept that publication is at the Club’s sole discretion, that the Club may refuse, edit or remove any Contribution, and that views in Contributions are the contributor’s alone; and
  • accept that you are solely responsible for your Contribution and will compensate the Club for claims arising from a breach of these promises (see section 17).

Editorial Blog submissions are open to Club members only. Selected pieces may be published in a monthly issue; submission does not guarantee publication.

7. Payments, contributions and refunds
  • Fees, subscriptions, contributions and donations may be paid offline (at the Club office, by bank transfer or UPI to the Club’s account shown on the website) or online through an independent payment gateway when enabled. Card, UPI and bank details are entered only on the gateway’s page; the Club never sees or stores them.
  • A payment is treated as received only when the Club confirms it. Keep your reference number and screenshot. The Club issues a receipt for confirmed payments.
  • Amounts are in Indian Rupees. Check the amount and purpose before paying; the Club is not responsible for payments made to wrong accounts that were not shown on this website or the Club office.
  • Membership fees, subscriptions, donations and Durga Puja contributions are generally non-refundable. Duplicate or wrongly debited payments will be investigated and refunded to the original payment method where the Club confirms them; please write to us within 15 days.
  • The Club is not responsible for gateway or bank outages, delays, failed or duplicate transactions, or charges levied by your bank or the gateway.
  • Donations and contributions are voluntary. Unless the Club tells you in writing that a receipt qualifies for a tax benefit, do not assume that any tax deduction is available.
8. Events, registrations and facility bookings
  • Registering for an event or booking a facility (Club House, Community Hall, Multipurpose Ground etc.) through the website is a request. It is confirmed only when the Club confirms it, and subject to availability and the Club’s rules and fees.
  • The Club may change, postpone, move or cancel any event, schedule, venue or fee. Where practical we will notify registered participants; refunds, if any, are at the Club’s discretion.
  • Attendees and participants must follow Club rules, volunteers’ instructions and safety and crowd-management directions, and take part at their own risk. The Club may refuse entry or ask anyone to leave for misconduct.
  • Photographs and videos are taken at events and may be published; see the Disclaimer for how to request removal.
9. Durga Puja and religious events

Durga Puja and other religious and cultural programmes are organised in a spirit of devotion and community harmony. Visitors are expected to respect the sanctity of the pandal and idols, follow dress and conduct norms, and follow the instructions of volunteers, police and civic authorities. Theme descriptions, schedules and arrangements are published in good faith and may change.

10. Sports, coaching and the BTTPL cricket portal
  • Participation in sports, coaching, tournaments and the Barisha Tarun Tirtha Premier League (BTTPL) is subject to the specific rules, eligibility conditions, fees and codes of conduct announced by the Club or the tournament committee.
  • Teams, players, fixtures, results, points tables, auction details and statistics are published for information and may be corrected. The tournament committee’s and umpires’ decisions are final.
  • Players and teams must play fairly, respect opponents, umpires and spectators, and give accurate information. The Club may disqualify or suspend anyone who breaches the rules.
  • Participants play at their own risk and are responsible for their own fitness, medical suitability and insurance. Guardians are responsible for minors.
11. Intellectual property

The website’s original text, design, layout, logo and Club-created photographs belong to the Club unless stated otherwise. Third-party content, trademarks and logos belong to their owners. You may view the site and share pages for personal, non-commercial purposes with credit to “Barisha Tarun Tirtha”. You may not copy, modify, sell, republish or commercially use the content without our written permission. See the Disclaimer for copyright complaints and the takedown procedure.

12. Privacy and data protection

How we collect and use personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the website you consent to that processing. Do not send us information about other people unless you have their permission.

13. Third-party links and services

The website links to or embeds services such as Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps, payment gateways and sponsors’ sites. They are not controlled by the Club, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. Sponsor and advertiser content is the responsibility of the sponsor or advertiser; a link or mention is not an endorsement.

14. Website availability and changes

We try to keep the website available and accurate, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may be unavailable or contain errors from time to time, for maintenance, technical faults or reasons beyond our control. We may change, suspend or withdraw any page, feature or service, and update content, at any time without notice.

15. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Our Disclaimer forms part of these Terms. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Club and its President, Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, office-bearers, Executive Committee, members, volunteers, website administrators and moderators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website, from reliance on its content, from third-party acts or content, or from events and activities held by the Club, except where liability cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

16. Suspension and termination

We may, without notice, suspend or end your access to the website or any account, remove content, or take other action if we believe you have breached these Terms, the law, or the Club’s rules, or if needed to protect the Club, its members or the website. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example intellectual property, liability, indemnity and governing law) continue after termination.

17. Indemnity

You agree to compensate and hold harmless the Club and its office-bearers, committee members, volunteers, administrators and moderators from any claim, loss, damage, penalty or reasonable expense (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your Contributions, your misuse of the website, or your violation of any law or third-party right, to the extent permitted by law.

18. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute arises, please first write to the Club at info.btt.1971@gmail.com so that it can be settled amicably through discussion with the Executive Committee. If it cannot be settled within 30 days, the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

19. General
  • Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer are the whole agreement between you and the Club about the website.
  • Severability: if any provision is held invalid, the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver: if we do not enforce a right, we do not give it up.
  • Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms; the Club may do so to a successor body.
  • Language: the website is in English and Bengali. If they differ, the English text and the Club’s Constitution prevail.
  • Electronic records: electronic communications and records of the website are accepted as evidence of your dealings with the Club, as permitted by the Information Technology Act, 2000.
20. Changes to these Terms and contact

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the new version here with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Please check this page from time to time.
